Marty Kurtz, CFP®

Founder/Sr. Financial Planner

Quad Cities

My focus as the CEO is moving people forward in their relationship with life and money. I founded The Planning Center in 1998 out of a desire to provide a safe environment for clients to talk about money. I watched my father work through my first thirty-eight years as a self-employed businessperson and saw how he just didn’t have the tools and guidance he needed to truly enjoy his life and his money. I saw how difficult it was for my mother and father to talk to each other about money.

“Our job is to create curiosity and to empower people to be happier”

I told myself I would one day help people protect, prepare, and provide for themselves, their families and the things they care about: specifically in dealing with their lives and money. I am proud to filter the noise and chaos of the financial markets for our clients, and provide them with solid guidance in understanding their financial lives. My long-term goal is to leave behind a company that lives on, continuously improves, and expands the horizons of the people it serves.

My passions, other than work, include classical music, reading history and philosophy, and playing golf. I am an avid fan and active supporter of the arts. Bike riding, quality conversations, and spending time with my family and good friends are also activities I enjoy.
