Our Chicago office opened in 2015 when Aequus Wealth Management Resources merged with The Planning Center. But the team has a long history in working with clients in transition. Cicily Maton, the Aequus founder, began her career working with people going through divorce, she soon recognized that emotional stress caused many to make errors in decision making that impacted their financial well being for years to come. Very soon, the team noticed that other life events affected decision making. They developed tools and processes that aided their clients to move through the transition maze with less stress, and in less time. They sought the expertise of psychology, gaining insights into communication and tools for change. In 2003, Dr. Wm “Marty” Martin joined the team. He is instrumental in coaching clients in need of a little more “nudging.”

Named in 2019 one of the 11 Best Financial Advisors & Wealth Management Firms in Chicago, IL by Advisory HQ
