My responsibilities as a tax analyst include preparing and reviewing tax forms for individuals. In addition to those duties, I assist with accounting and operations duties within the company. I am on the path to pursue my CPA and am training to become a signer level CPA here at The Planning Center.

“Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn. ” [Harriet Beecher Stowe]

I’m from the Starved Rock area of Illinois originally. I moved to the quad cities to work at the Planning Center drawn by the passion, drive, and love my now co-workers poured into The Planning Center’s mission.” Whatever stage of life you are in, we have the tools and knowledge to support you every step of the way.” I’m grateful to be a part of helping clients at the transition they are exactly at now and get them to their next step in life.

When I’m not at work I’m studying and preparing for the CPA exam in the future. I spend my free time with my two boys and spending every minute we can outdoors. I love to travel and have a goal of visiting every state. (I’m already halfway there!) I spend any free time I can volunteering and being part of MOPs (Mothers of Preschoolers). The greatest value I want to instill in my children is giving back to others. I enjoyed mission work in my youth that included rebuilding homes in Milwaukee, New Orleans, and Pittsburgh and am still think back to the lessons I learned from having the opportunity to travel and be a part of other communities and make an impact and how that has shaped my want to always continue to be a part of my community. I believe it takes a village and I’m glad I was welcomed into The Planning Center family where I can help clients each and every day.

Credentials

Affiliations: Fee-Only Planning

Areas of Expertise: Tax Preparation

Education:

  • B.S. in Accounting, Western Governors University

Leadership: Past Treasurer of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Peru, IL

My life’s biggest milestone: My first instinct would be to say “becoming a mother” but I’m growing more as a parent to my children as they teach me more and more. My greatest milestone is having the opportunity to learn from my kids.

My greatest extravagance (under $100): My instant pot. Makes cooking so quick and easy.

In my spare time: Other than building out excel worksheets and reading new and exciting tax law changes… I love to hike and explore with my kids. We regularly frequent Maquoketa Caves in Iowa!

My personal hero: Harriet Beecher Stowe. An intelligent, determined woman who’s writing changed history by starting the conversation our nation needed.

Favorite destination: Maine. I love the east coast.

Most effective saving tip: Budgeting can be HARD. We are human and we are always going to want that amazing deal, that new car, that new gadget, that fancy dinner, etc. When I know I can’t have what I want I focus on what I can control now. Creating the “Dream List”, planning a vacation 2 years away detail by detail, and focusing on a budget for next year. When things are hard right now, focus on what things COULD look like 6 weeks, 3 months, or 5 years from now.

The people I look up to: I was blessed to have three amazing teachers in school that inspired me every step of the way and are responsible for where I am at today. Ann Maller- High School English Teacher., Jill Bruner- High School Calculus Teacher and Lori Cinotte my College English/ Journalism professor. Every day they poured every bit of themselves into the students they taught and showed me what true passion and dedication to your profession is.
