Recent Reviews:

In general, stocks and bonds trended upwards from the 3rd Quarter losses.  US Stocks and REITs led the way while International and Emerging Markets were more sluggish on the rebound.  To help put some perspective on the Euro Debt Crisis, read the last slide called "The Good Old Days."
Equity markets around the world had their worst quarter since the end of 2008, as investors reacted negatively to the sovereign debt problems in Europe, the budget stalemate in the US, and poor economic data in most developed countries and in some large emerging countries such as China.  In addition, read the discussion piece on "Living with Volatility."
 
Equity markets around the world were little changed in the second quarter, and the broad US market was flat for the quarter.  The last slide continues the discussion on "Is It Different This Time?" by taking a look at headlines from 2nd Quarter 2010 and comparing them to current headlines.
 
  • 2011 1st Quarter Investment Review

    Despite natural disasters in Japan and other countries, increased political turmoil in the Middle East and North Africa, and rising commodities prices, equity markets around the world had good performance in the first quarter. Also, read the discussion titled "Is It Different This Time?", looking at investor sentiment toward stocks.
